The family-friendly coffee spot was popular with those with young children, offering a welcoming and inclusive space for parents.

Owned and run by Croston couple Holly and Steven Nicholson-Wrigley, The Pantry earned a five-star rating on Google with more than 160 positive reviews.

But today, they step away and hand the keys to its new owners, Charlotte Buchanan and Dave Crowther, who run Neighbourhood Coffee in Preston, as well as a branch at Lancashire Business Park in Leyland.

The Pantry is the latest addition to the couple’s growing portfolio of Neighbourhood Coffee Houses. They opened their first branch in Blackpool Road, Preston last year - and have since opened two more.

Neighbourhood @ The Gatehouse opened in January, a small kiosk located on Leyland’s Lancashire Business Park, followed last week by their third at Chew’s Yard in Market Street West, Preston.

Charlotte and Dave will now begin work on the Neighbourhood @ The Pantry, with plans for a quick ‘refresh’ before reopening it as a family-friendly café and brunch spot this summer.

The Pantry’s founder Holly announced the transition on Facebook, saying: “After five years, I’m stepping away from The Pantry.

“Our last day with me behind the counter is Wednesday, July 22. After that, this little café passes to Charlotte and Dave, who’ll be giving it a short refresh before opening the doors as the new Neighbourhood @ The Pantry.

“A new name over the door, and everything that mattered still behind it.

“Now it’s time for me to have a little more of the life I’ve spent five years encouraging everyone else to make time for. I waited for the right people. I found them.

“Many of you will already know them as the owners of the wonderful Neighbourhood cafés in Preston and right here in Leyland.

“But Charlotte and Dave aren’t just taking over — they’re friends, and they are the only people I could have handed this to.

“From the moment we met it was clear we share the same belief: that people come first. They’ll bring their own ideas and their own name, and they’ll look after what matters.”
