I’m gearing up for an exciting new chapter at my Blackpool coffee shop

The independent coffee house officially launched in South Shore as Polanco and opened its doors for a soft launch on Monday, September, 15 at 29 Highfield Road.

The stylish venue is the passion project of Fylde Coast businesswoman Kendal Gazal, who hopes to turn the cafe into a recognisable lifestyle brand.

Polanco offers an elevated coffee experience with a focus on quality and craftsmanship, serving specialty coffee and ceremonial-grade matcha in a space that’s been carefully curated to feel both warm and contemporary.

She works with top quality suppliers, such as Canton Tea who supply the Ritz Hotel to London, and London-based Assembly, who provide increduble coffee.

Owner, Kendal Gazal, on her coffee shop in Blackpool “This has been in the works since 2018. We wanted to create something that felt luxurious but accessible - coffee without compromise.

“Every part of the experience from the beans and the cups to the service and atmosphere, is designed to make people feel like they’re getting real value in every cup.

“I spent a long time choosing the right spot and Highfield Road just felt perfect.

“There’s a real sense of community here and Polanco fits right in with the younger, creative energy of the area.”

Looking ahead, she has ambitions to expand the Polanco brand across the Northwest with potential locations in Lytham, Poulton, Preston and even Manchester.

Kendal, said: “From day one Polanco was built with intention. Not just to serve great coffee and matcha, but to grow into a vibrant, people first location that will help bring the high street back to life.

“Our expansion into Lytham marks an exciting next chapter in that journey. Our Highfield road location stands as proof of what we believe good hospitality can do.

“Local businesses have told us they’ve seen more footfall and a renewed sense of energy and that’s exactly what we set out to achieve.

“As we grow into Lytham, our goals is to bring people together. Whether it’s enjoying the perfect flat white or matcha after our Sunday run clubs, or connecting through new community led events - Polanco is about shared moments as much as speciality drinks.

“Looking to 2026, we’re incredibly excited to annouce what’s to come. This expansion isn’t about scaling for the sake of it.

“It’s about showing people how we do things at Polanco, and sharing our belief in what good coffee, good matcha, and good hospitality should be.

“Polanco’s opening hours are 7am-4pm during the week and 9am-4pm on the weekends open 7 days a week.”
