Lancashire neighbours scoop an early Christmas present thanks to lottery win

Eleven people in Wheelton, near Chorley, won £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.

The Millbrook Close neighbours netted the windfall when their postcode was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery this week.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners. He said: “A big congratulations to all those who have picked up a prize today in Wheelton. I hope the win will help lift their spirits and they treat themselves to something special with the cash.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of the NSPCC, which has received over £5.2 million worth of funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The NSPCC works to protect children today, prevent abuse tomorrow and to make child abuse a thing of the past.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can apply for funding next year.
