South Ribble free school uniform pop-up shop to stay open for an extra week

The shop was opened by South Ribble Council inside a vacant unit at 52 Hough Lane, Leyland last week and has helped dozens of families by recycling and redistributing school uniforms.
After opening three days last week and again from Monday to Thursday (August 11) this week, the pop-up shop has proven so popular that the Council has decided to keep it open for an extra week.
All stock is free and all families are welcome.

Hide AdAfter tomorrow (Thursday), it will reopen on Monday (August 15) and stay open till Thursday (August 18). The opening hours will be 10am to 2pm.
“Everything must go - so if you've not had chance to come in please take advantage of this extra bonus week,” said organisers at Leyland and Farington Community Hub.
It also means that the shop is accepting further donations of primary and high school uniforms.
Donation days will be:


- Wednesday, August 10 between 10am and 2pm
- Thursday, August 11 between 10am and 2pm
- Friday, August 12 between 9am and 12pm (Donation Day Only – Shop closed for sorting).

The shop can be found in a vacant unit in Hough Lane, Leyland between The Leyland Lion pub (Wetherspoon) and Iceland.
What days is the pop-up shop running?
The shop opened last week and will be open today (Wednesday, August 10) and tomorrow (Thursday, August 11) from 10am until 2pm.
It will reopen next Monday (August 15) until Thursday (August 18) from 10am until 2pm.

Councillor Aniela Bylinski Gelder said: “We understand that our communities need support in many different ways and something at the forefront of everyone’s minds recently is the cost of living.

Hide Ad“The school uniform pop up shop is a new initiative created by the Council to help those in South Ribble who may need extra support with uniform or just want to help the environment by recycling their clean, wearable, outgrown or unused uniforms which we can offer to everyone across the borough.
“We encourage everyone to make use of this useful initiative so that we can continue to implement projects like this one in the future”.
