Special deals mark Autocentre launch
Car care giant Halfords Autocentre launches second Preston garage as drivers race to meet MOT deadlines.
One of the biggest names in car care is to open a second garage in Preston - just in time for a major MOT rush.
Halfords Autocentres is the UK’s leading MOT, car service, brakes, repairs and tyres specialist, with over 300 autocentres across the country.
Now it is preparing to unveil the latest addition to its impressive portfolio, with the opening of a new garage on the Deepdale Trade Park in Preston.
The new facility, complete with state-of-the-art technology, comes just as many car owners are preparing to take their vehicle for its first MOT.
March 2014 saw the highest number of new registrations that year – around half a million. It means those vehicles will now need to undergo their first MOT.
Drivers with a ’14’ registration plate are being urged to check their paperwork now to ensure they don’t fall foul of the law.
Because of the high numbers, garages across the country are gearing up for a busy period, making it even more important than usual for car owners to book in early – even for routine maintenance work like services, brake and exhaust checks.
The latest Halfords Autocentre will open for business on Wednesday, 29 March, when the Mayor, Cllr John Collins, cuts the ribbon and kicks off a series of exclusive price cut launch offers for customers.
To mark its launch, the new Halfords Autocentre has unveiled a string of special deals for customers.
Motorists can benefit from ten per cent discount on servicing, while MOTs are just £29.99.
And for a limited time, there’s a free MOT offer with a full or major service.
Visitors to Halfords Autocentres also have the chance to win a brand new Peugeot 308 GTi.
Customers can kick back and relax in the bright and spacious reception, enjoy a free tea or coffee and either watch TV while their vehicle is worked on by qualified technicians, or watch them while they work.
The free Wifi means there’s even a chance to catch up on work emails.
To suit busy customers, the new centre is to operate extended opening hours, including Sundays and bank holidays.
According to David Nicholson, Preston Autocentre manager, affordable prices mean motorists can keep their vehicle in good condition, stay on the right side of the law and have peace of mind.
“We have a terrific opportunity in Preston to build the business by offering local motorists a reputable brand delivering main dealer quality at more affordable prices, something that is resonating strongly in these tough economic times,” he said.
“This investment gives us a fresh, purpose-built space, equipped with the very latest technology and tools to enable us to service all makes and models of cars, old and new.
“It puts us in the very best position to meet the local demand from motorists looking for a better deal.”
Drivers facing unexpected repair bills can also benefit from the company’s new Interest-Free Credit initiative, which allows customers to have their vehicle repaired, drive away and pay later.
The new garage is the city’s second Autocentre - the other is at Riversway Retail Park. It brings the number of Halfords Autocentres in the UK to 315.
