25. Ashton High School
Ashton High School in Preston was described as an example to others after landing a top 50 place in a nationwide survey. Back in 1995 the school was one of only 50 secondaries to be identified in HMI inspector Chris Woodhead's annual report for achievements between 1992 and 1994. 26. Ashton High School
A former Preston schoolboy who now teaches in America has scored by bringing a football team over from the States to play against his old school in 1993. Mr Don Robinson attended Ashton High School until July 1963. A keen soccer enthusiast he formed a football club - Belleville Bulldogs - and brought them to play against a team from Ashton.
