Enterprising pupils at a Lancashire high school really took the biscuit when they teamed up with a local confectioner for a special project. Youngsters from St Cecelia's RC High School in Longridge, near Preston, joined forces with Lyons Biscuits from Blackpool, and British Aerospace at Warton, as part of their industry and technology training. Preston's oldest operatic society may have to pack up its greasepaint for good if its new production isn't a success.
