Little will have changed to the fabric of these dwellings in the streets near Moor Park in Deepdale since this picture was taken in the 1980s. But just look how clean the back alley is! Photo: Neil Cross

This area may look familiar to many as it is now home to Hill Street car park. It is situated behind the Old Black Bull on Friargate. For many years it lay empty, as this image shows in 1983 - though some used it as an unofficial car park Photo: Neil Cross

Little is known about the property pictured here in Preston in 1982. The no parking sign shows it was formerly the site for A. Levans Ltd Photo: Archive

Strawberry Gardens, pictured here in 1984, was the postal address for Frenchwood Social Club. Prior to this it was home to an old pub called the Strawberry Gardens Inn, which seems to have ceased trading as a alehouse in the early 1930s. Most of the pub was demolished in 1960 and part of the land was bought by Mrs Elsie Nelson (pictured) who had a house built there, and the remaining wall of the old pub was used as a base for her home. The former inn site was overlooked by Frenchwood Social Club, whose bowling green belonged to the inn. Older members still called it the Strawberry Club Photo: Archive
