31. A nuclear fuel plant union leader has condemed Preston council's Labour group for policies that will throw thousands of workers on the dole. Dave Cartain, one of three convenors at the BNFL Springfields plant near Preston, rolled out a computer printed list of the names of those whose jobs would go if the council's policy was put in effect.
