Bamber Bridge completed the first leg of their attempt at the Whitbread League double when they beat ROSC Chorley 2-1 in the final of the Ashton Domestics Guildhall Cup. It was a case of home sweet home when Lancashire pupils returned to their own school building. Roebuck County Primary School held a special assembly to celebrate its return to its Inkerman Street premises after an 18 month absence. The 83-year-old building was struck with severe dry rot problems which forced it to close for refurbishment.
