A long awaited bypass was officially opened - almost five months ahead of schedule. Local schoolchildren and residents watched as the chairman of Lancashire County Council's highways and transport committee Coun George Slynn cut the ribbon to open the new Kirkham and Wesham Bypass near Preston.
