Whilst the reason for holding the meeting virtually is due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the CCG hope by holding the meeting in this way they will not only be keeping people safe but also giving those that would struggle to attend a meeting in person, under normal circumstances, the opportunity to take part.

The meeting gives the population of Morecambe Bay a chance to find out how the CCG has worked to provide the best possible services to the highest standards in terms of safety, quality, accessibility and efficiency over the last 12 months whilst also dealing with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jerry Hawker, Chief Officer at the CCG said: “An annual meeting is a great opportunity for members of the public to find out more about what’s been happening in their local NHS over the last 12 months. As well as providing updates on our work around Mental Health and new Respiratory services, they will also be able to hear about how we are working with Bay Health and Care Partners to use population health approaches to ensure we are supporting those most at need.”

Dr Geoff Jolliffe, local GP and Clinical Chair of the CCG said: “We have had a really challenging 12 months during which all my colleagues including fellow GPs and CCG staff have gone above and beyond to ensure the best possible services for the population of Morecambe Bay. During the meeting, participants will be able to hear about how we are now starting to look to the future, to consider both the challenges and the opportunities ahead.

Members of the public will be able to ask questions to the leaders of the CCG in advance of the meeting by emailing [email protected]. The presenters will try and answer all the questions during the meeting, but if we run out of time, responses to all questions will be made available afterwards.

The link to join the meeting will be posted on the CCG website prior to Tuesday October 20, alternatively to receive the link you can email [email protected].
