Wyre Council has said the cancellation will be kept under review, and council-run markets at Fleetwood and Poulton will remain open.
Coun David Henderson, leader of Wyre Council said, “Our priority is to support our residents, businesses, staff and councillors and we will continue to follow advice from the Government and Public Health England. We would urge our residents and businesses to do the same.

“Our markets are still open and are a good place to avoid the supermarket rush. Fleetwood Market is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4.30pm and Poulton Market takes place every Monday. We will review this as the situation unfolds, but for now they remain open and ready to welcome shoppers.
“Wyre’s Civic Centre in Poulton remains open but with limited opening hours between 10am and 3pm. Residents are being urged to only attend if it is absolutely necessary or if you have an appointment. Queries can be answered and reported on the council’s website www.wyre.gov.uk or by contacting the council on 01253 891000.
“These are unprecedented times. Please keep up to date on the latest advice and look out for each other. Our vision is ‘together we make a difference’ and this has never been more true.”
