Where in Lancashire is the coronavirus infection rate still going up?

Covid-19 is spreading faster right across Lancashire than at any point during the first wave.

While increased testing will inevitably lead to more cases being confirmed, every single borough in the county is seeing weekly infection rates far above anything that was seen earlier in the year.

And just two of the 14 boroughs - both in East Lancashire - have begun to see a sustained fall in the infection rate.

It is likely to be at least another week, experts say, before the impact of the increased tier three lockdown restrictions will be reflected in the figures, which have seen hospital admission increasing too. On the Fylde coast, the number of Covid patients in hospital is now higher than at any point during the first wave.

These charts show how the weekly infection rate (the number of people testing positive for Covid-19, per 100,000 residents, in the previous seven days) has changed over time for each council area in Lancashire.
