Lancashire NHS chiefs say more vaccination sites will be confirmed for the region in the coming weeks, as they continue to work with local councils to identify suitable locations.
As it stands, there are currently two local vaccination centres in Preston, as well as sites in Penwortham, Leyland, Bamber Bridge, Clayton Brook, Buckshaw Village and Chorley.
These sites are in addition to the vaccination programme at Royal Preston Hospital which is providing the jab to its most vulnerable inpatients.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to vaccinate 14 million of the UK's most vulnerable people by February as part of Britain's biggest ever mass vaccination programme.
Jane Scattergood, Covid-19 vaccination director for NHS Lancashire said: “The Covid-19 vaccination programme has gotten off to a strong start across Lancashire and NHS hospitals and primary care centres are working extremely hard to vaccinate as many people as possible in a safe and coordinated way.
"Please do not contact the NHS for vaccination and instead wait to be contacted.
"The roll-out of the vaccine involves a wide range of organisations working together and we are working with these partners to identify potential vaccination venues. More vaccination sites will continue to be confirmed over the coming weeks."
