The Preston, Chorley and South Ribble areas where cases are still rising as Lancashire prepares for Tier 3

Yesterday the Government announced that the whole of Lancashire would be placed under the highest level of Covid restrictions in England, after hopes that the county would be split into different tiers when national lockdown came to an end.

As Lancashire prepares to return to the highest level of restrictions in England, we take a look at the latest Public Health England (PHE) data which shows the areas in Preston, Chorley and South Ribble where cases are still rising.

The PHE figures show which neighbourhoods saw an increase in cases for the seven days to November 21, 2020.

Seven–day rates are expressed per 100,000 population and are calculated by dividing the seven day count by the area population and multiplying by 100,000.

Below are the areas of Preston, Chorley and South Ribble that recorded a rise in cases, listed from lowest to highest percentage increase (Images are used for illustration purposes only).
