Latest coronavirus-related deaths at Preston and Chorley hospitals are announced

One more person has died at hospitals run by the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Preston and Chorley - after testing positive for the coronavirus, NHS England figures showed.

It takes the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 192, up from 191 yesterday and 185 on Friday.

The death toll at Blackpool Victoria Hospital rose by five to 173, while the toll at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust remained at 159.

There are now at least 590 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the council area of Blackpool, and 3,485 in Lancashire, which includes Fylde and Wyre.

That's up from 559 and 3,420 respectively on Friday.

A lack of widespread testing means the true figure is likely to be much higher, however, with thousands more people reporting coronavirus symptoms.
