Lancashire's weekend lockdown fines down nearly 50% from previous week

Lancashire Police said it responded to 365 reports of alleged breaches between 7am on Friday (March 12) and 7am on Monday (March 14).
Officers issued a total of 131 fines to those deemed to have breached restrictions, whilst the other 234 incidents resulted in no action being taken.

Hide AdIt is a notable reduction compared to previous weeks and just half the number of fines seen last weekend when 238 tickets were handed out.
The force has not reported any significant breaches over the past weekend, compared to previous weeks, as the end of lockdown draws closer.
But on Thursday (March 11), patrols were called to Reps Gym in Preston after its owner and 10 members were found inside. Owner Steven Todd was arrested and taken into custody for failing to comply with a court order to keep his business closed.

Last week (Friday, March 12 to Sunday, March 14) saw officers called to deal with hot tub parties, poker tournaments and woodland raves, with nearly £50,000 in fines handed out.
