Stonyhurst College A-level results: top school celebrates excellent public examination results

Stonyhurst College say they delighted to share the achievements of their Year 13 pupils, who received their public exam results after studying for the last two years through the pandemic.

In the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the Clitheroe school has continued to outperform the global average of 31.9, with an average point score of 34.4.

Over a third of candidates achieved 36+ points, broadly equivalent to 3As at A level, whilst the top points score was 42, a feat achieved by less than 4% worldwide, and is equivalent to 4 A*s.

Stonyhurst say they are delighted to see 100% of their International Baccalaureate Career Pathway (IBCP) candidates achieve their certificate conditions.

Their top IBCP candidate achieved a UCAS tariff point score of 80 from his IB components alone and is on track for a combined UCAS tariff equivalent of 3 A*s at A level.

Then for A Levels, 40% of pupils achieved A*/A, and two thirds achieved A*/B

Meanwhile for CTECH, 100% of pupils achieved Distinction or a starred Distinction.

University offers have been achieved at a variety of university destinations in the UK and abroad, whilst other pupils have secured prestigious apprenticeships at Anderton Gables, BAE Systems and Bentley.

John Browne, Headmaster of Stonyhurst, said: “These results are a remarkable tribute to the determination and maturity of our young people through the extraordinary events of the past few years. Most of all we are proud of these young people who have set such a fine example to their younger peers and are now ready to go out into the world as ‘men and women for others”.
