School is leading the way across the North West
Penwortham Girls’ High has been officially declared a National Support School by the Government.
On top of that the Cop Lane school’s chairman of governors Lorimer Russell-Hayes has also been made a National Leader in Governance (NLG).

Hide AdAs an National Support School headteacher Karen Pomeroy will work with counterparts at schools across the North West in “challenging circumstances” to help then drive up standards.
She said that for the past three years the school has been working alongside Lancashrie County Council to provide school-to-school support.
Now her a team of staff has been nationally approved to go into other schools to help support teachers.
All of them have gone through a rigorous application process with the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
