Runshaw College A-level results: popular Leyland college celebrates success

Staff and students from Runshaw College in Leyland are celebrating today after receiving their A-level results for this year.

In a statement, Principal Clare Russell said: "We are so proud of our class of 2022, they have been a delight to work with! Our simple ambition is that all our students are happy and fulfilled whilst achieving their dreams and ambitions during their time with us. The Class of 2022 exemplify this with their excellent progression on to high-quality destinations, including top Russell Group Universities, Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science courses, prestigious conservatoires and competitive degree apprenticeships!"

Examples of student sucess stories include Olivia Gillett who will study TV and Radio Production at Salford University, Carla Rutherford who is enrolling on the Musical Theatre course at Italia Conti, and Safaa Hafiz and Colin Chan who will both be studying at the University of Manchester.

Meanwhile Grace Mumby is going on to work for BBC Manchester, Harrison Slater-Smith for BAE Systems and Megan Hosker for the National Grid.

Based on Langdale Road in Leyland, Runshaw College is a higher and further education college for school leavers and those 19 and over.

Established in 1974, it initially began life catering solely for school leavers from Balshaw’s High School in Leyland, and Parklands High School in Chorley, but now caters to stduents from across Preston, South Ribble and even further afield as well.
