Parklands High School in Southport Road instructed its Year 11's to return home this morning due to a positive case of coronavirus in the year group.
"Our Year 11 bubble is closed due to a positive case of Covid-19," confirmed Parklands this morning.
The academy has not confirmed when the year group will be allowed to return to school.
Just yesterday (Wednesday, December 9), Southlands High School in Clover Road sent its Year 11's home after pupils tested positive.
Southlands said its Year 11's will not return to school until after the Christmas holidays on Monday, January 4.
New cases of coronavirus are a particular concern for families who are looking forward to celebrating a "normal" Christmas, with the Government relaxing restrictions on family gatherings between December 23 and 27.
But with just 14 days to go until Christmas, anyone who tests positive from today - as well as those they live with - would need to self-isolate until after Christmas Day.
