For Park Community Academy is celebrating a spectacular reminder of what people experienced during the initial coronavirus lockdown.

Instead of the usual whole school end of year art show, pupils working at home as well as those in school were invited to submit a piece of work reflecting their time in lockdown for a very special Glimpses of Brilliance wall.

An entire wall of the school hall has been covered with the entries, which range from photos of cooking, examples of writing, photography, even Lego models, as well as their own personal art.

Academy business leader Annie Millard pulled it all together and explained: " What the exhibition reveals is a snapshot of how 'Life under Lockdown' changed for us all at Park Community Academy - what we did differently, and how we tried to make sense of things.

"To highlight this, I included images from class blogs including home learning activities, zoom meetings and photographs that parents sent to their teachers about what their children were getting up to. In school, our key worker pupils were included to give a sense of how they were educated differently, and reflects the diverse set of experiences that the new circumstances provided."

Annie added: " Having a focus to create an end-of year show helped things to feel like they were more normal than perhaps it would otherwise, and in the end, we just wanted it to represent something positive for the pupils and parents to enjoy, - similar to how they would in normal circumstances.
