Dean Brandwood, Preston Sport and Health School Games Organiser, said: “This annual tournament has grown in popularity with twice as many schools taking part.”

The girls from St Andrew’s CE in Ashton came third, leaving the final to be a fiercely fought match between two Fulwood schools.

Harris and Our Lady and St Edward’s Catholic primaries battled it out.

A narrow victory for Our Lady and St Edward’s takes them into the county finals at the end of June.
