From pupil to pro dancer: Becca’s inspiring homecoming
Students at Garstang Community Academy (GCA) were treated to a high-energy masterclass this week as they welcomed back former pupil turned professional dancer, Becca Heath.
Returning not as a student, but as a tutor with Preston College Dance (PCD), Becca’s journey is a masterclass in dedication. Since leaving GCA, she progressed through LGGS and PCD, ultimately earning both a PGCE and a Master’s in Dance.
Alongside fellow tutor Rebecca, Becca led pupils from all year groups through two specialist workshops, one in Commercial dance and one in contemporary
The "full circle" moment provided a powerful example for current students, showing exactly where passion and hard work can lead.
Headteacher Satinder Singh commented: "It was wonderful to see our pupils inspired by someone who once stood exactly where they are now. A huge thank you to Becca and the PCD team for such an uplifting experience."
