Former Carr Hill star pupil Harrison is on track for his dream job -

He may only be in his teens but Harrison Wiggall already has his sights set on a life in the fast lane.

The Kirkham 16-year-old has just found out that he has won a prestigious engineering award which could help speed him on his way to his dream job - with the likes of racing giants McLaren.

Harrison, from Freckleton, has been awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, which is the most prestigious of its type in the UK. after being nominated by his technology teacher while he was at Carr Hill Hill School in Kirkham.

Now a student at Cardinal Newman College in Preston, he is studying maths, physics, further maths and computer science at A Level and hopes to eventually work in motorsport engineering.

Harrison plans to use the Arkwright money to fund a project in computer science and is thinking of exploring robotics and investing in circuit boards and tools to help him progress.

He is also that hoping that through the scholarship he will find a mentor in this area too.
