The winning student will receive make-up worth £1,000 to kick start their career, and the winning college will receive £1,000 of jane iredale® mineral cosmetic products for student training.

Lisa Anderson, theatrical and media make-up tutor at the Fulwood college, said: “It’s a brilliant achievement for

Charlotte as she was up against more than 200 students from 100 colleges across the UK. Charlotte’s make-up is always immaculate but her entry has really taken the judges by storm.

“It was her idea and I’ve been around to help her bring it to life.

“She’s quite stunned about her success and excited about opportunities such competitions provide.”

Other students from Charlotte’s course came up with ideas and created entries but only those over 18 were able to submit.

Charlotte added: “I only found out about reaching the final a couple of days ago and I am still in shock. It’s my first ever competition and as much as I look forward to it, I’m also really nervous. But I know it will be an amazing experience and look great on my CV.”

She hopes to pursue a career as a freelance make-up artist and do a level four media make-up course which the college hopes to introduce in September.
