Parents of pupils at the school reportedly received a message this morning, informing them that the school could not open due to the power outage and asking children to complete lessons online.

It is not clear whether they will be told to return to school now that the power failure has been fixed.

Headteacher Mrs Sharon Asquith said: "There is an intermittent fault with cabling external to the school that is being investigated by the electricity provider.
