Lancashire schools celebrated by charitable trust for incredible commitment to education

Local pupils and staff honoured for embodying trust values at Endeavour Awards night

Students and staff from Lancashire and Sefton were honoured at the Endeavour Awards at Park Hall for their commitment, hard work, and for living out the trust vision and values.

The Endeavour Learning Trust, which is made up of six schools, with another two in the process of joining, held its first ever Endeavour Awards night to celebrate the fantastic work taking place across the trust.

The evening was a huge success with 12 awards being handed out, with every accolade embodying Endeavour’s values. In addition to the awards celebrations and the students and staff honoured, attendees were treated to several performances from the talented students across the trust.

Staff

· Gary Ball from Tarleton Academy won the award for Individuality. He is a beacon of passion and enthusiasm, writing his own scripts and spending countless hours organising shows. His energy is contagious and helps students step out of their comfort zone, show their true selves and display their unique talents.

· Alison Scott from Wellfield Academy won the award for Belonging. Alison’s commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive environment helps students embrace each other’s uniqueness. Passionate about LGBTQ+ inclusivity, Alison has organised numerous events that empower students to be themselves and stand against homophobia, creating a confident and accepting school community.

· Stuart Twist from Burscough Priory Academy won the Transformational award for his uncompromising belief that all students can achieve big things in maths, far beyond what they thought was possible. These achievements are life changing, opening doors to a more successful future for all students.

· Helen Cole from Northbrook Primary Academy won the People Centred award for her exceptional dedication and empathy, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the best outcomes for the students. Her unwavering support and insistence on fostering kindness in every interaction enriches the lives of students, staff, and families alike.

· Jo Deary from Ormskirk School won the award for Togetherness. She works tirelessly to fundraise for local community charities, embodying the motto of ‘proud to belong’. Jo’s dedication to charitable efforts not only supports those in need, but also inspires a sense of pride among the school community.

· Pip Coysh from Churchtown Primary School won the award for Community. She has provided invaluable support for young carers and bereaved students for years. She has organised community funding for trips, delivered talks, and recently supported an ill colleague with fundraising events.

The evening began with a special recognition award for the children, staff and families of Churchtown Primary School, following the terrible tragedy they suffered earlier this year. This was an attack at a holiday club, in which a current and a former pupil were each killed, while a current member of staff and a former member of staff were injured. Jinnie Payne, Headteacher at Churchtown, collected the award on behalf of the community for demonstrating such exceptional compassion, kindness, resilience and hope.

David Clayton, CEO at Endeavour Learning Trust, said:

“These Awards are a celebration of our wonderful students, of our fantastic staff, and of all the incredible members of the Endeavour community. We have heard about colleagues who work tirelessly to support their students and their colleagues, as well as the selfless young people who go out of their way to help their peers.
