Homelessness Charity, Key Unlocking Futures, to celebrate 30th anniversary.
A charity which offers support to people who are homeless or facing homelessness in Lancashire is set to welcome former clients, volunteers, local dignitaries, and supporters at an event for its 30th-anniversary celebration.
A week after World Homeless Day which is this Thursday (10th October) Key Unlocking Futures will be welcoming around 100 people to the Civic Centre in Leyland on Thursday 17 October, to help mark its third decade of providing help, support, and advice to people facing homelessness and helping people needing support to get back on their feet.
The event will look at the history of the charity, as well as play a short promotional film which has been made for the charity by Media Trust, commissioned by Santander Foundation, as well as hearing people’s personal stories highlighting the charity's vital work. Colleagues past and present will also say a few words at the event about the charity's work over the last 30 years, which has helped over 33,000 people to date.
Event organiser, and the charity's Business Development Manager, Jayne Allison, saidof the event: “It is going to be wonderful to see so many people gathering together to celebrate the great work that has been done by Key Unlocking Futures over the past 30 years. The positive impact that the charity has had on so many individual lives is unbelievable”.

Key Unlocking Futures is based in Balfour Court in Leyland and was initially formed in 1994 as a youth charity. Over time, the charity has evolved and now offers a range of support services to prevent homelessness; help people facing domestic abuse, support people with their mental health and wellbeing with a big focus on emotional and mental health and strengthening communities through their thriving community centre in Broadfield, Leyland.
In 2014 the charity joined its partner Progress Housing Group to develop the services it offered knowing that together both organisations would be able to offer even more support to people going through tough times.
