The number of staff well outnumbered the one customer in the store but they didn’t seem to have much interest in serving me. At the back of the store, you’d be forgiven if you thought you’d accidently stepped into the store room.
Multi-packs of food and drinks lay on the concrete floor and a set of step ladders lay across the floor and on some of the stock.
After eventually getting the attention of the woman behind the counter, I was sold some polish meat from a refrigerated cabinet.
It appeared a little dry around the edges and after peeling them of and eating the middle I found it didn’t taste wonderful either.
However inspectors found fridges were not being kept cold enough as well as staff not wearing clean clothing.
There was also not an adequte supply of hot water and not enough cleaning equipment, said inspectors.
Combined with incomplete documentation and poor date labelling of products, inspectors found reason enough to give the takeaway a zero star rating.
