Toy shop opens its doors at Preston retail park

Youngsters around Preston have cause for celebration and a reason to start squirrelling away their pocket money  after a new toy superstore opened in the city.

Based at the Queen Street retail park, Smyths has added Preston to its Lancashire portfolio with stores already trading in Blackpool and Blackburn.

It had its grand opening earlier this month with special visits from Rubble from Paw Patrol accompanied by one of the rabbit characters from the Sylvanian families (if you have no idea who they are, ask someone aged under 10).

The arrival of Smyths - an Irish-based family business - marks a busy time at the retail park which has recently gained planning permission for two further outlets. Meanwhile, the nearby Range store has also been given the green light for a major refurbishment.

The store opens 9am and 8pm on weekdays, 9am to 7pm on Saturdays and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
