The Long Road Home: Preston fashion professional swaps global travel for a feline dream

PRESTON, Lancashire - After a decade navigating the fast-paced world of global fashion, a Preston professional has completed "the long road home" to launch a specialist family business inspired by the cats she missed while working abroad.
Andrea Hardman, who spent 12 years living in London and traveling across Europe as a visual merchandiser for major retail brands, has returned to her roots to launch My Three Cats Preston. The specialist, in-home cat-sitting service - run alongside her daughter Amber - covers Preston, South Ribble and surrounding areas.
Her previous career saw her working away from home for extended periods, but her thoughts were never far from her cats.
"No matter where I was in the world, I was always thinking about them," Andrea said. "You’re constantly wondering if they’re okay, if they’re eating properly, or if they’re missing you. I was lucky that my daughter Amber was always there to look after them, but not everyone has a cat-mad family member they can rely on. That feeling of worry is what made me want to create something better for local owners."

Now based back in Preston, the mother-daughter duo offers a family-run service built on trust and a genuine "feline-first" philosophy. While Andrea brings her professional eye for detail to the business, Amber brings the brand to life on social media, where their own cats, Ariel and Rosie, are quickly becoming local stars.
Through their playful videos, Ariel and Rosie offer a glimpse into the care at the heart of the service, helping local owners feel reassured that their cats will be looked after with dedicated love and attention.
Andrea and Amber are supported by the wider My Three Cats group - an award-winning cat-sitting brand founded in Warrington - giving them the training, systems, and professional backing to deliver a trusted, reliable service from day one. The business also leads the ‘Cats Deserve More’ campaign, which challenges the pet industry to give felines equal consideration in a traditionally dog-focused world.
"Coming back to Preston to build something with my daughter, while supporting the local community of cat owners, feels like the perfect homecoming," Andrea added.

My Three Cats Preston is now taking bookings across Preston and South Ribble. For more information, visit www.preston.mythreecats.co.uk email [email protected] or follow Ariel and Rosie’s journey on Instagram & Tiktok @mythreecatspreston
