Regional Businesses Show Their Support for Women Recovering from Abuse

Award-winning coach Aimee Heaton is calling on businesses to show their support for women, by contributing to an innovative Women’s Trauma Healing Programme, which will launch early in 2026.
The Christmas period can be particularly difficult for women in abusive relationships, with incidences of domestic violence increasing by around 30% as emotional and financial pressure makes the home environment more volatile.
The Women’s Trauma Healing Programme will offer free access to a six-week trauma-informed recovery and empowerment programme, which will help women impacted by abuse to regain their confidence and self-worth.
The campaign has already attracted interest from a range of regional businesses, including the HR Dept Carlisle and Morecambe, Heights Accountancy and Morecambe Bay Wills, who selected the project as one of their community projects.

Heather Crammond from HR Dept Carlisle and Morecambe said:
“This is a brilliant project which will have significant impact for those who most need it. Donating was a no brainer for us.
“The HR Dept Carlisle and Morecambe is proud to stand up to violence against women and girls. Being a supporter of the Women’s Trauma Healing Programme fits perfectly with our ambition to ensure people are at the centre of business”.
Aimee’s commitment to supporting women comes from her own experience, having been in an emotionally-abusive relationship herself.
She said:
“The effects of emotional or domestic abuse are long-lasting and there are both physical and psychological aspects of trauma that need to be worked through.
I’ve launched this initiative because I know there are women out there who need support but cannot access it.
I’m hugely grateful to all the supporters so far who have made such a visible commitment to reducing violence against women and girls and supporting women in recovery”.
