This is when Lancashire's newest McDonalds will open its doors

V. The fast food outlet in Hilmore Way will open its doors on Wednesday June 17, according to a sign outside the premises.

Work has been taking place for several months on the site of the former Frankie and Benny's and Burger King premises off Central Drive.

It was originally built in the mid-1990s as a drive-thru Burger King.

It was then taken over by Frankie & Benny’s, who vacated the site in 2020, and it has remained disused since then.

In 2024, plans for Burger King to open a drive-thru on the site, were withdrawn.
