A new convenience store opens at a former Post Office in Preston this week.
The new Premier store will open at the former Cottam General Store in Hoyles Lane at 7am on Friday (May 22).
The shop, near Miller Green, has stood empty since 2021 when it was forced to close due to flooding caused by problems with the road surface drainage. The post office counter, which was based at the Hoyles Lane shop for more than 30 years, later relocated to the local community centre.
The shop has been fully renovated and is now ready to serve the community once again. All Premier stores are locally owned by independent retailers and the new Cottam store will operate under the management of local resident, Steven Birk.
Opening times are 7am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 10pm on Sundays.
