New Greggs drive-thru opening near Aldi in Preston - everything we know so far

A new Greggs drive-thru is opening in Preston with the doors expected to open in the coming weeks.

Work is nearly complete on the bakery chain’s new store on Queens Shopping Park, between the Costa drive-thru and Aldi.

The outlet will front the A59 Stanley Street, one of the busiest routes in Preston, and will include a covered outdoor seating area.

The land was formerly a patch of greenery and Greggs have been planning to build a new store on the spot since January 2018, when outline planning permission was granted. More detailed plans were approved five years later in 2023.

An opening date has not been confirmed at this stage, but work on the new drive-thru is nearly complete.

A Greggs spokesperson told the Post: “Greggs is due to open a new shop in Queen’s Shopping Park within the next few weeks. We will be able to share further details with you closer to the opening.”

So, what can you expect from a Greggs drive-thru?

The Greggs website says: “As with all our shops, you can expect deliciously golden bakes, freshly made sandwiches, Fairtrade coffee and tasty sweet treats… as well as service with a smile (of course!)

“But unlike other Greggs shops, you can stay in the comfort of your own car and make your order at our snazzy order point, before driving round to the collection window where your flaky faves will be ready and waiting for you.”

Greggs were approached for comment.
