Andrew Stringer, general manager of St George’s Shopping Centre, said: “HMV is a great brand addition to St George’s and the new store looks fantastic, we are delighted to welcome HMV’s Preston team to the centre.
“Preston has been home to the brand since 1984 and I am sure it will continue to be very popular with shoppers.”

“Store manager Jon Cotton and his team have been welcoming customers to the city’s brand new home of entertainment since 9am (yesterday) morning. The store offers the very best in film, music, games and technology, including a wide range of vinyl and merchandise.”
Coun Drew Gale, who represents the Town Centre ward on Preston Council, said: “I think the move into St George’s is well thought-out - they’ve down-sized the store and the extra footfall they will get from people passing through I think will serve them well.
“I’m pleased they’ve stayed in Preston.”
