Family-run Garstang MOT and repairs garage LBT Motors to close after 40 years
A family-run MOT and repairs garage in Garstang is closing after 40 years.
LBT Motors in High Street has announced it will cease trading from Tuesday, March 17.
Trusted mechanics Tod and Luke Tuer, 63 and 58, have run the family business for four decades, along with Tod’s wife Liz. But they said the time has come for them to close the doors and enjoy their retirement.
Sharing the news on Facebook, they said: “After forty wonderful years, the time has come for us to retire and for our business to close its doors. This has not been an easy decision, but it feels like the right moment to begin a new chapter in our lives.
“What has made these four decades truly special is not just the work we've done, but the people we've had privilege to meet along the way.
“Many of you have been with us from the beginning; others joined us somewhere along the journey. Whether you visited once or came time and time again, your support has meant a lot to us.
“Over the years, customers became familiar faces, and familiar faces have become friends. Sharing conversations, stories, and laughter with you has been one of the greatest joys of running this business.
“Those relationships are what we will treasure most as we step into retirement.
“Thank you for your loyalty, your kindness, and your trust. Thank you for supporting a small local business and allowing us to be part of your lives for so long. It has been a privilege to serve this community.
“Although the business is closing, the memories and friendships will stay with us. We look forward to seeing many of you around Garstang and staying in touch in the years ahead.
“Our last trading day will be 17th March 2026.
