Lancashire firm Suzi Wong as proud as Punch to make Tyson Fury's shorts

A Lancashire company was as proud as Punch as Tyson Fury regained the world heavyweight boxing title.

For many years Suzi Wong designs have been the number choice for most champion fighters.

Tyson Fury has been a regular customer over the years - and when he looked to regain his title last weekend he went back once again to Suzi Wong.

The firm - made up of family members Melissa Anglesea, her sister, Rebecca and their parents - made him two pairs of shorts and two gowns just for the occasion.

Melissa sat up and watched the fight in the early hours of Sunday morning and along with the rest of the wiorld saw Morecambe-based Tyson wearing her firm's shorts bearing the "Gypsy King" slogan

Melissa, creative director, said: "We have known Tyson Fury for many years - going back to when he was an amateur.

"We have all his measurements so we can come up with a new pair fairly quickly.

"We are very proud of him - he is sometimes controversial and makes mistakes but he has come back in great shape.

"It was momentous occasion.

"I think he is an inspiration to us all and deserves every credit."

Melissa added: "It is fantastic for British boxing and it is fantastic for us as a British manufatcurer."

Suzi Wong has been at the forefront of providing fight wear for boxers over the years, working with household names including Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton, Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor, Jorge Linares, Anthony Crolla, Tony Bellew, Callum Smith and James Degale.
