Lancashire crops firm reports 40 per cent growth in sales amid pandemic

Levity CropScience, the Bilsborrow-based agronomy company, reported year on year growth of more than 40 pert cent in revenue and profits, for its multi-million pound smart fertiliser business.
Levity’s products help growers produce larger and more resilient yields across crops, such as potatoes; strawberries, avocados, bananas, oranges, wheat, rice and tomatoes.

Hide AdThe crops become more resilient due to Levity’s leading research-backed fertilisers and over the past year their use has been increased in some of the world’s more arid areas.
David Marks, co-managing director of Levity CropScience, with Anna Weston, said: “More than 40 per cent Year on year growth is a fantastic result, bearing in mind the pandemic related challenges that businesses throughout the world have encountered in 2020.
“We have made strong progress this year, with first orders received from several countries, including South America (Columbia), Africa (Kenya, Zimbabwe) and Europe (Estonia), as well as booming sales in the United States of America, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Southern Africa.
“These export successes will support and fund our world class Research and Development here in Lancashire creating skilled employment in our region.

The company was founded in 2011 to develop and commercialise sustainable agricultural products which can help improve yields in demanding environments.
Much of the focus is on speciality fertilisers, stress tolerance chemicals and biostimulants.
