Kirkham Morrisons respond to online rumours about staff testing positive for Covid-19

Morrisons in Kirkham has responded to online rumours suggesting that staff at the supermarket have tested positive for COVID-19.

Local Facebook groups have been rife with speculation that a number of staff had recently tested positive for the virus at the store off Poulton Street.

One online post yesterday (Friday, November 20) led to more than 150 comments and has provoked considerable concern among some local shoppers.

This morning, the Lancashire Post has approached Morrisons' head office for clarification on the reports.

The supermarket has responded and we can now reliably inform our readers that the reports are "incorrect".

Morrisons declined to provide a full comment, but has assured us that none of its staff members have recently tested positive for the virus and none are self-isolating.
