Dozens of suggestions have already flooded in, ranging from referencing the Scotsman’s number of appearances or goals in a PNE shirt or the year he made his debut at Deepdale.
Signature Living unveiled earlier this month the name of the highly-anticipated development - previously known as the Harris Hotel - that is set to open in September.
Bill Shankly’s grandson and Shankly Hotel co-owner and director, Chris Carline said: “It is a fitting tribute and legacy to my grandfather for a hotel to be named in his honour in Liverpool, but it is also important for his legacy to be honoured in Preston where he spent much of his playing career.
