The amusement park has been busy gearing up for the reopening in a landmark year and has brought in a number of measure to ensure social distancing can be achieved

It has replaced wristbands with an ‘eTicket’ which means when visitors arrive at the Promenade attraction they do not have to visit ticket sales to collect wristbands or have a member of staff fit them on wrists.

The number of guests allowed on the park will also be capped on a daily basis to give for social distancing and to give visitors ‘a safe and enjoyable day out’.

Thrillseekers will also need to wear a face mask while indoors and on rides unless they have an exemption.

A spokesman for the attraction said: “The Government has issued guidance on the wearing of face coverings, which is to assist with the control of the spread of Covid-19.

“We ask that our guests comply with this guidance, but if you believe that you satisfy one of the exemptions then please speak to a member of the team in the ticket centre or guest services where we can provide you with a face covering exemption wristband.

“This can then be shown to our staff at the relevant time, excusing you from wearing a face covering.

Although the park is reopening a number of rides will remain closed due to them being unable to guarantee social distancing for visitors. The rides that will not open are Impossible, the Chinese Puzzle Maze, the Thompson Carousel, Alpine Rally and the Dodgems. Valhalla is also closed again this year as it continues to undergo renovation.

Additionally on some rides, it may be necessary for some empty seats to be left between guests.

The amusement park’s food units will also be open but there will be limited indoor social distanced seating

The spokesman added: “We have expanded our outdoor seating capacity in light of this. Guests will also be able to use our new Visitor Portal to order food for contact-less collection in some catering units.”
