Fylde IT specialist sees record-breaking growth in first half of the year

Fylde based enterprise resource planning and managed services provider, Smart IT, has said it has seen “remarkable growth” in small and medium-sized customers in the first half of the year.

The Kirkham-based firm said its growth for the first six months of the 2020 financial year was up a record-breaking 75 per cent, with the majority implementing the Odoo ERP package to help them achieve fast business growth.

The announcement follows a milestone year in 2019 where Smart IT’s revenue grew by 50 per cent.

Smart IT’s Barry Bullen said: “Customers come to us for different reasons, but efficiency is their key driver.

“We’re proud to be able to provide solutions that scale with them, whether to handle finances, HR, manufacturing or managed IT services support.”

A number of new clients are seeing the COVID-19 pandemic as the catalyst for change and an opportunity to embrace a new working model.

He said: “Through the power of Odoo ERP, they’ve ensured business continuity – ultimately accessing their business systems from anywhere and at any time.”

In addition to its Odoo ERP work, Smart IT’s IT support services division has seen a huge uplift with switching on home working for clients.

Barry added: “Our largest recent project in this field was facilitating homeworking for over 600 agents. We are seeing growth in this area, not only setting up secure homeworking for multiple employees but supporting the infrastructure and service desk.

“Last year we set out the clear goal of tripling our turnover by 2024 and our performance to date this year indicates we could well smash that much sooner.”

Recent Smart IT account wins during the pandemic include Albert Roger Ltd, a specialist beauty distribution business operating across Europe with 10,000 points of sale across the continent.

Another is Boori, manufacturer of nursery and children’s furniture made from sustainable wood.

Other new clients are spray specilaists Metallisation, communications firm Paratus, Safety Belt Solutions and Zelus Sports.
