A Preston takeaway has been handed a new one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Al-Barakah, a takeaway at 25 Langcliffe Road, Preston was given the score after assessment on October 12, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The food inspector declared the takeaway needs ‘major improvement’ in their management of food safety.

This means that their system or checks are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat and evidence that staff knows about food safety is inadequate.

And the food safety officer has not got confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.

The Food Standards Agency also reported that the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building that Al-barakah serves food from need necessary improvements.

The Post also reported in 2019 that the Brookfield situated takeaway received a food hygiene rating of one of five.
