Avove joins Brothers of Charity for a day of creativity and community connection

Leading infrastructure and engineering company, Avove, has continued its support of important community initiatives after colleagues swapped pens for paintbrushes and joined Brothers of Charity to support their fundraising activities.
The charity, which supports over 500 people with additional needs across the North West of England, was joined by colleagues from Avove’s People & Culture team for a day of creativity, with colleagues and service users collaborating in the spirit of community.
With the festive season arriving, the group spent the day designing and crafting Christmas cards that will be sold to raise funds for the charity, accompanied by service dog, Rascal, for added motivation.
The team then rolled up their sleeves to help paint a range of tables and chairs that will be used to furnish the organisation’s new café area – a welcoming space designed to bring people together and foster inclusion. Throughout the day, colleagues took the opportunity to speak and engage with service users, learning more about the important role the charity plays within the community.

Committed to creating a safe, supportive and vibrant environment where individuals can thrive, the charity provides a range of essential services, promoting dignity, individuality and inclusion through supported living and employment options.
Amelia Roberts, Talent & Attraction Manager at Avove, commented: “It was an incredibly rewarding experience to spend time with the Brothers of Charity team and their service users. Seeing the creativity and enthusiasm in every activity reminded us how much impact small acts of support can have. We’re proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause and I’d like to thank Brothers of Charity for making us feel so welcome, and of course, to our committed colleagues for taking the time to support the initiative. We look forward to supporting the charity again in the future.”
Louise Mount, Reward & Engagement Manager at Avove, added: “From start to finish, the entire day was both eye-opening and inspiring, offering a great opportunity for us to meet members of the community and collaborate through creativity. As a company, we are committed to giving our support to initiatives, enhancing the communities in which we live and work, and this was yet another example of that dedication.”
Avove is committed to making a positive impact, delivering long-term social value in locations across the UK, whether that is by ensuring the efficient supply of utilities or volunteering to help local people and causes.
