An Argos spokesman said: "Our Chorley Argos store will be closing on May 8, 2021 and colleagues have been offered opportunities to redeploy to alternative roles within Sainsbury’s.

"Customers can continue to shop with us at our nearby stores, including Bamber Bridge Argos within Sainsbury's and our Horwich Argos Collection Point."

It is the latest Argos in Lancashire to close as Sainsbury's plans to shut 420 standalone branches across the UK.
