The Royal Oak in Chorley Old Road closed its doors on Wednesday (April 15) with management saying they will seek to reopen “as quickly as possible”.

The small mid-terrace pub, which dates back to 1820, reopened last August and is now a free house run by local brewery Hopworks.

Management said: “Unfortunately, I have had to close the pub temporarily due to unforeseen operational circumstances affecting the venue.

“I’m working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and will update everyone as soon as I’m able to reopen.

“I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, especially to those who had plans with us this weekend.

“Thank you for your patience and continued support—it really does mean a lot.”

The Royal Oak was approached for further details, but management said they were “not at liberty to disclose anything further at this moment in time.”
