You too Bizet for opera date?

Carmen, a passionate drama of love and rejectionfeaturing an impressive cast and accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra, is at Blackburn King Georges Hall next week.

The cast and musicians, bring to life of Georges Bizet’s most famous opera in a way you have never before experienced – and some Lancashire talent will be part of the show.

Producer Alexej Ignatow said: “We try hard to involve local choirs, and to integrate them in our productions.

“This year we offered the opportunity to six children, 10-13 years old, to sing in our production of Carmen, and are delighted to announce that children from the Stagecoach Theatre Arts Company in Blackburn will take part.”

Hollie Mills, Avital Baskind, Grace Turner, Natalia Castr, Kira Swallow and Ben Thompson are the six lucky singers.

Producer Alexej added: “The Russian State Ballet and Opera House was founded to represent quality and passion for Ballet and Opera at the highest level.

“Expect to the thrill and passion of love, jealousy and violence of 19th Century Seville in one of Bizet’s most popular pieces. Carmen is a perfect introduction to opera for the uninitiated.

“It is a good story with many memorable tunes and, for the opera-goers, this production will resonate with the particular energy delivered by the company.”

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will present Carmen at Blackburn King Georges Hall on Wednesday, March 5.
